From the Desk of Autumn Winds Assisted Living, Yankton September 2011

 Greetings and happy Labor Day!  It won’t be long before Jack Frost is nipping at the noses and our thoughts will turn to the approaching fall and winter seasons.  "

The 11th of September we will observe Patriot’s Day ~ World Trade Center Remembrance Day.  “Time is passing. Yet, for the United States of America, there will be no forgetting September the 11th. We will remember every rescuer who died in honor. We will remember every family that lives in grief. We will remember the fire and ash, the last phone calls, the funerals of the children. “ - President George W. Bush, November 11, 2001.  As we observe the 10th anniversary of  the 911 attacks let us not forget that we live in a country who came under vicious attacks on our fellow citizens and thanks to the sacrifices of many, we are a bit stronger and stand a bit taller and continue to be proud we live in America.

Let us be ever mindful of our many blessings and remember “Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some stay for awhile and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.”

Tracy True has joined our staff as our new Receptionist. Tracy worked for this facility when it was new as Pine Lane Estates. Tracy has worked for the Yankton Transit, the Niobrara School System and the Nebraska & South Dakota Game Fish & Parks. Tracy is friendly, caring and hardworking. She’ll be a great asset to our facility. Welcome Tracy!

We little knew that morning that God was going to call your name.

In life we loved you dearly, in death we do the same.

It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone;

For part of us went with you, the day God called you home.

On August 28th, Scott Vande Kop, was called to his eternal home.  He left us with no fanfare or extended goodbyes, but rather quietly and gently as he lived his life.  The Autumn Winds/Prairie Homes families extend our sympathies to Scott’s family ~ Carol & Steve, Lethia & family, Monte & family, Hope, Alex and Samantha.

In Loving Memory
